In order to assess preparedness for university studies, applicants to UBC are evaluated on the basis of a broad range of criteria. Knowing more about applicants through the Personal Profile section of the application helps identify students who will flourish at UBC, not just because of high grades but because of the experiences and ambition they bring with them. The Personal Profile gives you the opportunity to tell UBC about the things that are important to you, your significant achievements, what you have learned from your experiences, and challenges that you've overcome. This information, along with your academic achievements, will be used to determine your admissibility to the UBC undergraduate programs you have selected and/or eligibility for Entrance Scholarships and Awards.

Your Personal Profile may be reviewed by the University for authenticity and originality. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, such review may include the use of software tools and third party services including Internet-based services such as TurnItIn.com. By submitting your Personal Profile, you consent to it undergoing such review and being retained in a database for comparison with other work. The results of such review may be used by the University to determine your suitability for admission. By submitting your Personal Profile, you are confirming that the responses represent your own original and authentic written work and were not written by another person; failure to do so constitutes academic misconduct and can be subject to the disciplinary measures outlined in the University Academic Calendar on academic misconduct.
