On the scale of 1 to 10, where would you rank the importance of an interview in the admission process? Could you elaborate your take?

I would give the interview a 9! Aside from being important, it is one of the most fun parts of the process and I think that all Admission Counselors enjoy meeting students and watching their excitement as they speak about the things that they are most passionate about.

What are some quick tips for the Chinese applicants during the interview?

Do not be afraid to be your true self. We want an opportunity to get to know who you really are so tell us and show us! Don’t waste time practicing answers that you memorize because you think it is what we want to hear. This is not about what Admission Officers want to hear, it’s about sharing who you are with us and showing us that you would be a great fit for our schools.
（不要害怕去做真实的自己。我们希望通过这个机会去认识一个真实的你，所以在面试过程中请尽情的去表现你自己。不要因为你认为我们想听到什么就去浪费时间反复的练习提前背好的答案，因为这并不是面试官所想要听到的。我们希望你能够和我们去分享真正的你自己，去表现出你的才能让我们学校以录取你为荣。）

What is the best impression a Chinese applicant has left for you?

My favorite interviews are the ones when we get into natural conversations about the things that students are most impressed with and passionate about. You know that the interview was a good one if you feel like it was an easy conversation with a friend and not a scary conversation with someone who was evaluating you!
（我最喜欢的面试氛围是当我能够和学生们去自然的交流他们印象最深刻的事情，和他们最热爱的事情。你知道其实最好的面试是你感觉面试就像和朋友一样去轻松简单的谈话，而不是和一个评估你的人去谈一场提心吊胆的对话。）

What in general do Chinese applicants lack? How can they improve?
（综合去分析，您认为中国学生在面试过程中普遍缺乏的点是哪里？应该如何去改进呢？）

Chinese applicants are great! But the real issue is that they do not know how to present themselves in a way that makes them memorable (in a good way) or unique and different from other applicants. Sometimes they are so nervous and worried that their answers feel very rehearsed and sound robotic.
（首先，中国的面试生都非常的棒！但是问题是他们不知道如何去更好的表现自己让他们能够被“记住”(以一个好的方式)，或者去表现出自己和其他面试者的不同和特别之处。有些时候，他们因为太紧张，所以导致他们的答案听起来很像机器人并排练过很多次的。）

What the applicant still need to be mindful after Vericant, especially before on-campus interviews?
（还有哪些事项是需要申请者们在完成维立克面试之后需要去记住的，尤其是在赴美校园访校之前？）

Remember that sometimes even if you do not do as well as you hope on the Vericant interview, on campus interviews tend to be easier because you are usually being interviewed after you see the beautiful campuses and meet very nice, fun people.
（记住即使你在维立克面试中没有像你想象中发挥的那么好，但是校园面试会稍微简单一点，因为你的面试通常会在观光美丽的校园，和遇到一些有趣的人之后才会进行。）
