MPA/MPP热门方向，你知道多少？-新东方前途出国

MPA/MPP, 近几年来越来越受到中国申请者的青睐，一方面是因为这是个敲门砖，是国内学生实现美国名校梦最容易的途径之一；另外，MPA/MPP众多的研究方向中，不乏很有学习价值的热门方向，例如：Civil Infrastructure Systems（基建系统），Financial Management（财务管理），Economic Development（经济发展），Environmental Management and Policy（环境政策和管理），Public and Nonprofit Management(公共和非营利性机构管理)等。

Civil Infrastructure Systems

城市基础设施系统方向往往涉及到城市交通，水资源管理和处理，电力，通信等方面。这些方面的管理需要掌握很多方面的技能。例如，基础设施的选址，施工，保养，运营等方面涉及到城市规划，项目管理，资本运营等。

Financial Management

需要金融从业人员的地方，不仅仅是参与经济活动的各类公司，公共机构和类似基金会模式的非营利性机构同样需要从金融的角度运筹帷幄。总而言之，只要是有资金，需要资金分配运作的地方，都离不开金融。MPA方向下的金融相关方向一般是从内部财务管理和外部公共金融策略两个方面展开。

以NYU的MPA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy里的Financial Management方向为例，这个项目需要修完60个学分，其中5门核心课程，分别是Statistical Methods for Public, Nonprofit, and Health Management；Microeconomics for Public Management, Planning, and Policy Analysis；Managing Public Service Organizations (MPSO)；Financial Management for Public, Nonprofit, and Health Organizations；Introduction to Public Policy。项目强调学生对SPSS等统计软件的熟练掌握和对SPREADSHEET等财务软件的熟练掌握。如果想要毕业，需要证明专业实践能力，有两种途径：第一种是入学时已经有了至少两年的工作经验；第二种是在读期间完成至少280小时的专业相关实习。

在修完上述核心课之外，财务管理方向还需要修完10个学分的相关课程，包括 Public Economics and Finance；Multiple Regression and Introduction to Econometrics；Fundamentals of Accounting。

Public & Nonprofit Management

Public & Nonprofit Management,公共机构管理&非营利性机构管理，这个方向重在培养政府机构和非营利性机构的未来管理者。因此，硕士阶段课程中，通常会包括组织机构管理理论与实践，机构预算管理，分析工作，甚至信息技术在组织机构管理中的应用。

以MPA专业历史最悠久，实力最雄厚的Syracuse University(雪城大学)为例，Public & Nonprofit Management也是众多研究方向中最热门的一个。这个项目分别面向有工作经验的学生和没有任何工作经验的学生，提供30个学分和40个学分的课程学习要求。所学课程中，有9门MPA核心课，分别是Public Affairs Colloquium, Public Budgeting, Public Administration and Democracy, Public Organizations and Management, Managerial Economics for Public Managers, Introduction to Statistics, Quantitative Analysis, MPA Workshop, Executive Leadership and Policy Politics. 从这些核心课程可以看出，统计和数学分析对于MPA也是很重要的一项技能。

Environmental Management and Policy

环境资源政策与管理方向注重对环境问题和资源利用的深刻理解和关注，通过硕士阶段的学习，使学生掌握正确的处理环境资源相关问题的分析处理和解决方法。专业课程的学习会涉及到environmental risk analysis, geographic information systems, benefit-cost analysis, intergovernmental systems management, and other policy analysis and tool-based courses等，可见MPA的这个方向更关注环境的有效合理开发和利用。

同时，越接近现实问题的方向，越需要工具技能的使用，来客观地分析解决相关问题。所以，诸如统计，数学软件等都是必须掌握的。以Environmental Management and Policy方向排名第一的Indiana University—Bloomington为例，MPA课程中包括Data analysis and modeling，Environmental economics and policy，Environmental resource management and policy等。除此之外，学生还需要修完18个学分的MPA核心课，包括：Public Management，Statistical Analysis for Effective Decision Making，Public Management Economics，Law and Public Affairs，Public Finance and Budgeting，Capstone in Public and Environmental Affairs.

MPA的方向中除了以上的热门方向外，还有很多其他的方向，比如说城市规划（Urban Planning）,媒介管理，国际经济等。总体来说，MPA是个包罗万象的硕士项目，总会有一个方向是你的兴趣所在。
